Almead Contest Winners!Hey! I'm back online, time to announce winners *u*
I love the color scheme for Eskella here, and also her very fitting figure!
I love the thick hair of Eri and her all jewelry! She has just gorgeous and perfect body, very suiting to character!
Awesome idea and perfect representation for clothing design theme. It's very matching to the character, I totally see Aaia wearing such stuff. Also, character itself is really well drawn!
Very sexy and beautiful piece! Also has perfect cold colour scheme for Eskella. I love her pose and perfect face!
What a cutie she is! I'm surprised it was drawn by dA Muro, cause I know it's hard to work with. I'm happy artist remembered about her hair sticks!
Awesome picture that had my instant love. This represents all girls just as they exist in my head. Also, the outfit that Erinel has is plain gorgeous.

Elf Christmas Wishlist 2013Motherpost was submitted by saniika
How to make the list is easy:
Make a post in your dA journal (the manual INCLUDED - I wont grant any wishes, if I see no manual). The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real-life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random jou
How to be popular on dA? +Question to good people.I've been asked few times "what did you do that you became popular?". And I don't know what to answer due to simple problem. The thing is.. I'm not popular at all! When saying "popular" I think about people who have few million pageviews, get 5-10k favs on every piece etc. This is popularity! What can I say about popularity at that level I'm familiar with? I'll try to explain it in few points.
First? Remember that deviantART is COMMUNITY! Come on, spend some time to go around this page, comment on other people's stuff, make some friends! Of course do not try to befriend people just to get benefits from it, it doesn't work that way! The best explanation? Have fun! Spend more time on dA than 2 minutes just to check your inbox. The more you're involved with dA community the bigger chance that you will get noticed! "Forunth watches 3,082 people, while 918 people watch Forunth." <-- see?
Other thing, originality. Let's imagine, you have drawn portrait of a random woman with pencils

HospitalHello. I'm Forunth's boyfriend and I was asked to post this info, so her friends wouldn't worry about her. She is in hospital for couple of days. I can't say why she is there, please don't ask about it. I'm sure she will be back soon. I will upload some scans she asked me to upload today and tomorrow, but I'm deviantart noob, so it will take me some time to understand how to do it properly.
I'm sure Foru will be happy to read some good wishes for her, she deeply needs it.
Dawid, Forunth's boyfriend.
Almead feature!I just wanted to feature awesome stuff I got from all of you, as gift, point commission, art trade or request!
Enjoy this compilation of awesome drawings, and go and share some love with all of the artists!

What I hate about dA community.Lately I've been talking with some of my friends, and almost all of them agreed that dA society has serious illness. And this illness is being overconfident and not realizing your mistakes.
I've dug through some galleries last time and I was amazed how many people didn't make big improvement during the years. If any. And all off them had something in common, they all had written about their work "This looks really good!", "I love how it looks" etc. It's okay to be proud of your drawings, to achieve every small step. But what if you will become arogant piece of shit? Do you really have right to praise your own work? Of course, when you're professional artist (and by this I don't mean if you sold some commissions... But if you do it for living) it's okay to say "I offer high quality stuff for my clients". I've always said, the day when I will be 100% satisfied with my work, will be my last step on progression ladder. It will be day when I will beco
Octopus Accessories - art thieveshttp://www.octopus-store.ro/
this is their store. They are Octopus Acessories
This is their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/OctopusAccessories
They had my drawings printed and were selling necklaces with them. They also lied to me that they did not steal them and took them from from some deviant who supposedly stole them first.
They sent me this link to this deviant :iconxyqueen: but the drawings that belong to me were submitted 12 hours ago. So obviously this couldn't be true since Nijikon was over 12 hours ago, and they had them for sale since 3 days ago.
This girl is so shameless, she lied to my face! She made me feel bad about calling her out and "making a scene" in front of her booth. OMG! And i believed her, i could have had her kicked out of the convention on the spot! She made me apologize for making a scene in front of her booth So she stole my art, and i was the one who apologized.
THAT. IS. WRONG.
Wow, if thievery was a game, she would be the final boss

Do you/a friend Need Exposure for Adoptables? I've recently found people who have made these really nice adoptables, at least artistically I think they're really well done. And then it pains me to see when very few people bid on them, and this amazing creation can only sell for like, $5 or something.
Now I've never tried adoptables, and I'm not sure I completely understand how they work, but what I do know is that it seems artists who do them are really at the mercy of how much exposure they get. In that way, it's much like everything else; if you don't have the numbers, really great work goes unnoticed and sells for a handful of jelly beans.
So I'm going to do a journal that features Adoptables.
Do you have, or know someone who is selling *nice quality* adoptables but really needs exposure on them? Leave a thumbnail or link in this journal, and maybe I'll choose them for my feature. I can't showcase them all, but I'd certainly like to try and get a few out there.
The world gets harder for artists all the time
1,500,000 KiribanI don't ever do Kiribans but I'm doing an exception this time.
First person to take a screen cap of my profile at 1,500,000 pageviews and sent it to me in a NOTE will get a 50x50 pixel icon + 1000
Screen cap must be uploaded to STA.SH (or to your gallery, if you prefer)
Of course screen cap must be legit. If I suspect you cheating, don't expect to get anything :/

Group Switch Around Meme Results! The Results!
Apologies for the ridiculously late posting, but here are the results of our first group Switch Around Meme collaboration! We had 50+participants, 150+ individual artworks, and a whole bunch of fantastic final pieces, so make sure to take a look.
Thank you to all the participants, all our helper line-art and coloring artists, as well as the admins who helped me manage this event. This collaboration event was met with a great deal of enthusiasm, so we will likely have more (better-organized) collab events in the future.
These compilations were arbitrarily split up into sets of ten, just so that there wouldn't be one giant file:

Silver Soldering ToolsArtist's Toolbox
Silver soldering is one of many different types of soldering, and is a commonly used technique in jewelry-making. There are many different tools that can be used for silver soldering - I will go over the basic tools that I use in my soldering endeavors, but there are certainly a lot more than I will be able to cover in this article!
The first and most obvious "tool" in silver soldering is the solder itself. Silver solder is just that - it is silver alloys that are specifically created to melt at certain temperatures in order to be perfect for varying soldering jobs. The silver solder that I use comes in sheets & is cut into small chips in order to be used. There are different 'levels,' if you will, of solder - most commonly called Hard, Medium, Easy (and I sometimes use Extra Easy).
The difference between the 'levels' is the temperature at which they each melt. Hard solder melts at the hottest temperature, and Extra Easy at th
